What is a classic hair style for an older woman on her wedding day?

Im doing my dads girlfriends hair on her wedding day, she wants a classic and simple in a down style, with maybe a few bits pulled back off her face, shes 50 (but doesnt look it) and she has shoulder length golden blonde hair quite thick with a fringe i want it to look different from her normal straight style but she doesn't want to look like mutton dressed as lamb (her words not mine) if anyone has any ideas or pictures it would be much appreciated!!! thanks xxxxWhat is a classic hair style for an older woman on her wedding day?

it really depends on her theme, where she is getting married etc...for example, a fancy wedding should have a fancy bridal hairdo - such as a cascade of curls behind one ear, with a flower to secure in place.





A beach wedding, or more informal wedding, perhaps wavy and left down, with a few peices pulled back from her temple and secured at the back.





I got married a few months ago and wore my hair like Katy Perrys ';Wedding'; in the music video for ';Hot %26amp; Cold'; which is a down style.
Try doing really soft, loose curls. That's always gorgeous and very elegant. Pull a few strands back from the front and make sure you keep them loose. The whole idea is for the hair to look loose and flowing; not tight and restricted! A look like this is very pretty and doesn't look unnatural even if she usually wears her hair straight.

I would take inspiration from Evita Peron. She always had a very classy and sophisticated hairstyle in blonde as well. I think any mature woman could fall in love with it. And to make it more fresh and fun, decorate the hair with fresh flowers.

Now I might seem a bit old fashioned, but I do think that there is nothing more elegant than a clean 50's look (: Good luck!
Try pulling just the two sections near her temples back into a little ponytail. Twist the strands of hair so that they stay. This is simple and elegant, and very classic.
