What is a good hair style for a 14 year old?

I'm getting a haircut next week and I don't know what kind of haircut to get. Right now I have layers, but they grew out. I still want layers and I'm thinking of cutting it short. Like maybe below the shoulders? I also want to dye my hair. Where do you think i should dye it? I don't want a tail. Everybody has that. Please help! it depends what style is in around your area .or maybe bring the next style in by getting , a side fringe and short choppy layers , with highlights , or get short layers that work there way into your fringe to make it look like you have a full fringe but not quite.
