Hair styles for thick hair?

I have mediumish-longish black thick hair!! it's so annoying. its pretty straight, its not curly but its so thick it looks bad. i need a new hairstyle. everyone now has short layers with sidebangs. i was thinking that too, but i dont really wanna be the same as everyone else and anyways i dont think this thick hair would look good with that. any other ideas?Hair styles for thick hair?
My dad is a hair stylist and what he usually does with people that have thick sort of long hair is he has this method i dont know how to do it but he takes scissors and somehow all the excess bulk hair is gone and it looks really thin and less he did it on me so maybe you can ask your hair stylist to do it? i know you said yu didnt want layers but layers really do help when you have really thick and long hair (like mine)Hair styles for thick hair?

THE BACK OF MY HAIR WAS VERY HIGH, THE FRONT CAME DOWN TO MY CHIN AND MY BANGS WERE SIDE SWEPT. IT CAME OUT GREAT! I WAS VERY SATISFIED.
